My husband told me I look from the future. Ha! He' My husband told me I look from the future. Ha! He's not entirely wrong. This funny-looking device is to help prevent and treat migraine.

I've been waiting over a year to try it. Due to the cost, I needed to pay for it with my HSA insurance card but my previous card wouldn't cover it. My new card does, and I purchased it as soon as I discovered it.

This is called Cefaly, for those who don't know what it is. This is what they say about it: it works by targeting the primary pathway for migraine pain: the trigeminal nerve. It uses external trigeminal nerve stimulation (eTNS) — a precise electrical impulse — to stimulate and desensitize the trigeminal nerve over time.

So, I tried it on the prevent setting last night for the first time. It was somehow on the highest setting and it was so uncomfortable, almost painful, and actually seemed to trigger a migraine. This was a user error and not the device's fault.

An hour or more later, I put it back on with acute mode and made sure the intensity was at a level I was comfortable with.

An hour later, it went off and I realized my migraine was about 98% gone! I slept the rest of it off.

I've only used it one time for migraine and have no experience with the preventative mode so I'm not endorsing it yet. BUT, this really might be a game changer for my migraine care and I'm so hopeful about it!

I'm on a monthly injection to prevent migraine episodes and have prescription meds for aborting migraine attacks but I wanted something natural to add to my treatment plan. This just might end up being it.

I'll keep y'all posted!

Have you tried it?
When the world feels cold and harsh and scary, I h When the world feels cold and harsh and scary, I have these people to bring the warmth and peace and gentleness. I am so grateful for them. For without them, I don’t know where I would be. 💕
Remember how I announced I was feeling better from Remember how I announced I was feeling better from the flu? Well, I spoke too soon. It's been a rough week of coughing so hard that my throat hurts, my muscles hurt, and I'm not getting much sleep because the coughing is keeping me up. It's not juicy, it's not scary, I'm not afraid I need to see the doctor - it's just that I'm miserable, and that stinks. (it's a long-lasting one with everyone in the family who caught it, too.)

The weather today was perfectly perfect. My favorite, 60 degrees, and sunny and breezy. Dash went for a 3-hour bike ride all over the place and had a blast. He got home and we took a long walk around the neighborhood with Charlie. I somehow had the energy even though I'm fatigued from being sick - I think it was just the weather and nature that made me feel alive.

I took time for art making this afternoon - it was so nice. Relaxing yet energizing at the same time.

I've had Terry Mayfield @terrymmayfield on my mind today. One day she was living her chronic Lyme life like me and the next she passed away from the same disease I have. (She had a seizure and her heart couldn't recover this time.) It's hit me pretty hard.

Every time someone in the Lyme community dies it does. So much still needs to be done and changed within our community in treatment, testing, etc. It's all so sad to me that she was only 55 and is now no longer here with us.

I am naturally the type of person to find the good in my life, in my day, and see the blessings. I soak up my days and my life. Yet, I feel I should do it even more than I do - IDK, my mortality and all kinda staring me in the face, I guess. The older I get, the more I realize that every day I wake in the morning is a blessing and not to take that for granted.

Anyway, deep stuff but what has been on my heart these days.
You guys, I'm so excited! Why? My new HSA card is You guys, I'm so excited! Why? My new HSA card is accepted at Cefaly and I FINALLY, after at least a year of wanting to try this natural preventative and acute treatment for migraine, am able to give it a whirl for the 90-day money-back period. I really hope I see some relief with it!

For those of you who do find relief, is it mostly on the prevent setting or acute setting that you've seen work best for you?

As most of you know, my monthly injection for prevention isn't working as well as it was and I really would prefer a more natural route to go along with my acute pain meds - if I need them.

I'm not against meds at all. I'm so grateful for them. But, if I can find a way to keep from needing them as much as I do, that would be ideal.

Anyway, I'm crossing my fingers that this works. If not, I'll return it and maybe give Gammacore a try.

So, ya, if you feel comfortable telling me your experience with Cefaly, either in messages or here, I'd love to hear it.

I prefer to hear how it works best for you - acute or preventative.

Thanks so much!

Signed,
Migraine mama (lol)
Beautiful day for a beautiful day. Beautiful day for a beautiful day.
It's 80 degrees today which is insane and not my i It's 80 degrees today which is insane and not my ideal weather but it's better than snow and ice so I'll be grateful ha! I love 60's personally. What is your favorite temp?

I had a nice day out on a couple walks with my boys and Charlie, of course. I know I won't have all 3 of my boys under my roof for much longer so as much walking and sitting around talking while we cook I can get out of them, the better.

I've had a decent day, although my neck and shoulder muscles are quite tight - which is typically a sign that my POTS if acting up. It's called coat hanger pain.

I see POTS has been in the news again...I haven't had time to read the article yet but something about not enough care for POTS patients, or something along those lines. Which doesn't surprise me.

Even my cardiologist seemed to just brush that off when I said my POTS symptoms got extremely bad after my second bout of Covid. You'd think this would be more mainstream now with how many Covid patients are presenting with POTS symptoms, but it's not... yet.

I sometimes wish I had more mainstream illnesses to be honest. POTS and Lyme (and mold!) and it's like I got the triple whammy of things most doctors don't understand, don't want to understand, and just plain blow off.

But, let's switch gears. I finished a blog post for my mom blog - and lemme tell you I slacked hard core this month with that blog but I checked my Pinterest pins and they're doing great! I can't believe it. I even have one with 17 clicks to my website on it, which was so exciting to see.

My organic traffic from Google is up as well. So, it's lit a fire under my butt to get back to it. I typically write very long content to make sure it's high quality, packed full, and that my readers AND the search engines love it so it takes me a couple days or so to finish an article.

That rash on my legs is still there on and off - I have an appointment with my ND this month so I'm waiting on that before I possibly seek MD help. They're all but worthless for my medical issues lately. 🙁

Hope YOU are doing well! #baselineorbetter as I say. Have a great rest of your day.
